On my homepage you see a painting of a couple looking into different directions . I started the painting in November 2008 and it is still a work in progress. It represents a couple at crossroads, they are looking in different directions to search the horizon. At that moment we had decided to leave the city of Leyden and actively started looking for a new living environment in the countryside. And yesterday we moved to a new living place in the Eastern part of Holland. We now live (temporary) in a former farmhouse with a lot of space around it. When I started the painting , the couple was standing at the beach of Miya Jima in Japan, Later they were standing in front of their home in Leyden, and now the background of the painting is dominated by a cloudy sky at the moment the sun is breaking through the dark clouds. I think I changed the background into its present version in summer 2009. Since that time our plans have become reality and yesterday on a sunny Spring day we arrived at our new destination.
